Let’s Build The Bridge — Two Minutes To Unity*
--
Hi, #ImWithHer and you can be too. No one can deny the impact Bernie Sanders had on this primary or on the democratic party. While you may be upset your candidate did not clinch the nomination, just know his revolution, your revolution, this revolution needn’t end here. There’s lots you can do (state/local government) to continue building on his legacy.
For those looking for a reason to Unite Blue or to join Hillary, start by asking yourself these three questions:
- Do you like living in a country where everyone has and enjoys the same freedoms?
- Do you believe women should have rights over their own bodies and what they do with them?
- Are you tired of seeing innocent people gunned down in schools/movie theaters/churches?
If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, you can join the #NowImWithHer train anytime you like. No Hillary supporter, probably not even Hillary herself, would say that she is without fault. There may be policies she’s supported which you do not like or affairs you believe she mishandled. That is fine.
The matter at hand and the reality we face is that a xenophobic racist is on the opposing ticket. GOP ranks are falling in line to get behind him regardless of what current scandal he’s embroiled in or whatever meltdown he descends into next. After observing the primary and as we enter the general, what is clear is that we cannot allow a bully to push his way into the White House.
Little Rubio, Low-energy Jeb, Crazy Bernie. These are monikers which may be suited for the reality TV realm where everyone’s playing a character but have no place in our political arena. This is not fun and games. We are taught to rise above bullies, be better than them. We must do this now.
The stakes are too high. We must #UniteBlue for the greater good. Take the time you need. We’ve got a long five months ahead of us. But when the time comes, if you’re a democrat, I hope Hillary can count on you because there’s a lot of people counting on her to make sure their rights, civil liberties and quality of life progress instead of regress, in this great nation of ours.
