Being of Service

Great news: I’m back on my feet! I’m not fully recovered but i’m at a solid 90% which is considerably better than the 0% I was owning not too long ago. Last week I was able to go back to work, and even though it was only for half days, it still felt incredible. For a second, I forgot what being around people felt like and how amazing it is. I forgot how awesome it is to make plans and meet people. To change out of my pajamas. Just to be out among the living.

That said, a lot of people helped me get here. From close friends to my doctors and nurses, I’m grateful for all of them (and for those who chose not to be identified too.) I also realize that part of being a functional human being is 1. being a kind, genuine person and 2. being of service to others. I’d like to make a conscious effort to help others in the coming weeks and months.

I just donated to Adrienne’s Indiegogo and would love if you did too. She’s one of the people who helped me move a few weeks ago, despite recovering from her own pretty intense ankle surgery. (Oh, right, I moved to Brooklyn a few weeks ago).

I still can’t lift anything so if you’re hoping I can return the favor and help you move next week, you’re sadly out of luck. BUT i’d like to do whatever else I can. This includes but is not limited to: walking your dog, meeting you for a tea or coffee, being an ear to listen or shoulder to cry on, window shopping, a person who can proofread, whatever. As long as you don’t need me to pick anything up, feel free to reach out!

It’s good to be back.
